Can I get Honeycrisp apples every week?

Well, no. Part of what we do here at Sweetland Orchard is to grow a wide diversity of apple varieties — we’re at 100 and counting. If you have a preference for an apple variety or for certain apple characteristics — say, for example, that you love yellow apples —just indicate that in the “Preference” field or drop us a note at sweetlandorchard@gmail.com or 651-252-4337. And if it’s really Honeycrisp that you want, we’ll do everything we can to get Honeycrisp to you for the duration of the CSA. The same goes for cider: if you know that you’d prefer Cherry Rhubarb every single darn week of your CSA delivery, just let us know. Back to the Fall CSA page.

How many apples are in a quarter/half/peck?

Quarter pecks, half pecks, and pecks are an arcane unit of measure that apple growers have used for a long time, so who are we to buck tradition? A quarter peck is about 3 pounds, a half peck is about six pounds, and a full peck is about twelve pounds. The actual number of apples in your bag will vary based on the size of the apple — the bigger the apple, the fewer that will fit into the bag. Back to the Fall CSA page.
